On different paths..."Leave the paths and immerse yourself in nature and silence, walk slowly, far away from your daily worries, and discover the treasures of our mountains."
The title is not chosen at random. Let's move away from the main route of the E5! The large media presence in recent times has unfortunately led to overcrowded huts, worn out paths and terrified flora and fauna on the E5. For this reason, we decided on a no less spectacular and eventful alternative route away from the "Autobahn"!
Our route takes us from Oberstdorf / Baad to Schlining - through 4 countries via 3 peaks and 2 cable cars to 1 destination - on foot across the Alps ..!
In 9 days and 7 stages (the standard hike is usually 7 days with 6 stages) Christian, your certified DAV (mountain) hiking guide, leads you demanding but not overwhelming over the Alps. And in a small group of max. 10 participants, spontaneous encounters with ibex and marmot can be enjoyed undisturbed.
Pre-program optional Hike through the Breitachklamm
The journey takes place on your own until 5:00 p.m. Check-in at the hotel. If you arrive early, the day is ideal for a detour to the spectacular Breitachklamm. We meet at 6:00 p.m. for a short welcome. We have dinner together in one of the surrounding restaurants. Ask? Here our hiking guide Christian will surely also give the answer.
Oberstdorf Oberstdorf is a market in the Bavarian district of Oberallgäu in Germany. The climatic health resort and Kneipp spa is a popular destination for mountaineers and hikers. Oberstdorf, the southernmost municipality in Germany, is located in the Oberstdorf basin in the Illertal valley, in the Allgäu Alps. The Iller origin is in Oberstdorf. With an area of 230 km², Oberstdorf is the third largest municipality in the Free State of Bavaria after the state capital of Munich and Lenggries. It is located at an altitude of 813 meters (measuring point at the St. John Baptist Catholic Church). Haldenwanger Eck, the southernmost point in Germany, is 17 kilometers southwest of the town center. Because of this, Oberstdorf is a member of the Zipfelbund.
Breitachklamm The Breitachklamm is a gorge created by the Breitach in the Allgäu. It is located at the exit of the Kleinwalsertal near Tiefenbach, a district of the municipality of Oberstdorf. In addition to the Höllentalklamm, it is the deepest gorge in the Bavarian Alps and the deepest rock canyon in Central Europe.
The last stage! So shortly before the goal we become very quiet. Relieved, incredibly proud of what has been achieved. We almost did it - we reach Schlining. After 7 days and 6300HM, we reach the final destination of our alpine hike. We will certainly enjoy the short rest euphorically before our transfer bus takes us back to the hotel in Oberstdorf in about 3.5 hours. Reschensee, Reschenpass ... let's enjoy the ride. The rest of the day can be used as freetime.
We enjoy the last evening together with a hearty dinner in a fun round. And after so many good sips of the blissful experiences of the past few days, the climbed peaks become even more formidable ...! There is a lot to report. Or…?! 2h, approx. 5.5 km | elevation gain ↑ m / ↓ 550 m
